Yerba Mate’s a herbal infusion that comes from a plant found in the depths of the rainforests of South America. It’s been drunk on that continent for hundreds of years and is traditionally served hot, from a wooden gourd with a metal straw.

Everyone goes for a fancy Latin name, but we thought we’d switch things up.

Yerba Mate gives you focus and the Latin word “focus” means Hearth: it was the centre of the home, the focal point, where families gathered, meals were had and stories were told.

The gathering part ties in with the sharing culture of Yerba Mate. In various parts of South America, friends and families sit around the cebador, who pours water into the Mate gourd, taking a sip and passing it on the next person.
